Describe Yourself:(batting my eyelashes) Well . . . there's not much to say, really. Since winning the Miss Texas pageant, I travel, volunteer at homeless shelters, and dream of world peace.

Especially like Metallica's Black album.

But also listen to Billie Holiday, Keane, Lyn Skyn, Nina Simone (when I'm writing), AC/DC, Mozart and Bach and Brahms (when I'm writing), and movie soundtracks.

Ever heard the soundtrack from The Elephant Man? The old movie? It's eerie. Going to listen to it the next time I write a thriller story.

Beej T., Apr 23, 2008, 6:24PM EDTHey Lea, haven't heard from you in a while so I thought I'd drop in to say hello.
I guess the weather at your house is about the same as it is at mine to day...pop up storm threats.
I see here on this comment below that you are from Louisiana. Me too!
And...we both ended up here. I too miss the great tasting foods of the southern coast.
I'm glad I still have family there to bring up the spices and fresh catches.
I like to cook when I have all the fixins ( a word I'm sure you have heard before) -
Lea M., Apr 3, 2008, 12:02AM EDTMariana, My family was from southwest Louisiana -along the Gulf Coast. I can't recall the parish name. We moved to southeast TX (also along the G. Coast) when I was young.
I miss fresh crab stew, gumbo, and shrimp! :-( -
Mariana T., Feb 19, 2008, 11:04PM ESTHi Lea - where in Cajun Country are you from??? I am from Franklin, St. Mary Parish - are you from near me??? Thanks for your comment! Salud.

Lea M., Feb 12, 2008, 12:45PM ESTHi, Beej! Yes, hail, hitting my bedroom window awoke me this morning. NOT my idea of a cheery day. I am looking forward to spring gardening (well, container gardening anyway). You?
I DO frequent Barnes & Noble's cafe. I write, type, and drink. LOL. If ya see a short, cajun woman writing, stop over and we'll visit.
Do you ever go to Arsagas? Goooood coffee. -
Beej T., Feb 11, 2008, 4:28PM ESTHey Lea, what do ya think about this cold wet day? forecast calls for icy roads in the morning. I still love being here in NWA though if we wait a minute it will change right?
